At any rate, the game described in the manual is nothing like what happens in practice- all the discussions about tactics and operations mean little as each individual mission boils down to shoot, shoot, shoot- like Doom on tracks, it doesn't matter if it's a defensive or assault type mission, they all pretty much show you the same thing. ![]() The core of the game is often like the player's tank platoon and perhaps one or two sections or another platoon in support taking on a brigade in each mission. M1TP2 lies somewhere between simulation and arcade shoot 'em up, or sim lite- sort of reminds me of the MechWarrior games, and while there is no magic radar, there are more kills per minute than any other first person combat game I've ever played.
